Veronica Diaferia moves fast. After a philosophy degree from a university in Milan, she spent some 12 years working up from starter intern positions through to freelance producer and finally executive producer duties at houses including Hungry Man, Moxie Pictures, and Anonymous Content. Those experiences were enough. This fast-moving woman has launched her own commercial production company, Tinygiant.
Diaferia has worked with top production companies on national and international spots for Apple, Unilever, Verizon, the NFL, and Google, so she knows what top shelf clients expect. She has also worked directly with unattached directors including Bryan Buckley, Martin Granger, Bennet Miller and Frank Todaro.
Tinygiant won’t be in the mold of traditional houses with their slick offices and requisite pool table. Diaferia feels the traditional models for production just won’t work any longer, so she will be creating a company that addresses these changes.
She sees her solution accentuating collaboration and creativity, matched with a lack of pressure on budgets that comes from not having a high overhead.
“We are young enough to understand that the future of commercial production is in traditional ads as much as in integrated campaigns or vine videos,” Diaferia has said.
But this won’t be a bare-bones facility that cuts corners, as Diaferia says the company will be able to guarantee “the same standards that the union productions’ clients are accustomed to.” She sees the house’s strengths in comedy, lifestyle, fashion, sports, cars, docustyle and branded content.
The company’s roster of directors currently includes Daniel Garcia, Lukas, Ben Jacks and Simon Stock. Elizabeth Mang has come on as Midwest sales rep, with East and West Coast sales currently in house as the company seeks further independent representation.
