Designed to highlight the “rich and fascinating history” of locations made notable from their use in cinema and TV, the free audio tours will highlight the “iconic moments” from said shows, according to MOFTB Commissioner Katherine Oliver.
Julianna Margulies and Matthew Modine narrate the first two, hour-long tours, which focus on lower Manhattan.
“There’s cinematic history on practically every corner,” said Commissioner Oliver. “These podcasts serve as a testament to the thousands of production professionals – both past and present – who call New York City home.”
James Sanders, who wrote the tour narratives, also authored Scenes from the City: Filmmaking in New York.
