Even if you don’t plan to attend HD World at the Javits today and tomorrow, you might want to swing by 645 W. 27th Street tomorrow–Thursday– between 10am and 5pm to see the latest in high-end camera systems and post gear. Band Pro and Media Distributors share offices at this far west Chelsea address.
Band Pro, of course, is the Burbank-based seller of high-end video camera gear such as Sony’s CineAlta F35, PDW-F800 XDCAM, and PMW-EX3, all of which will be on hand and rigged for digital cinema production.
Also on tap: Silicon Imaging’s SI-2K camera (created and built in upstate New York, this innovative camera was used to shoot Slumdog Millionaire among many other indie productions); S.two’s OB-1 flash recorder; the Codex Portable solid-state recorder; and high-quality glass from Carl Zeiss (DigiPrimes and Compact Primes), Fujinon (its latest PL-mount zooms), and Cooke (first US showing of the new Panchro and 5/i lenses). Media Distributors will demo the Polaris RAID, the “industry’s affordable RAID storage solution”, Fusion Drive (a hybrid recorder/asset management system), and the R-2 Archive Station with REDrocket card.
