The Digital Cinema Society, the motion picture industry’s 6,000-member international organization dedicated to sharing information on new production technologies, will sponsor a special New York event on Thursday, August 1st from 7 to 9:30pm.
Free to all interested Still and Moving-Image Content Creators (including DCS members), the event will explore income opportunities for providing Stock Footage to a variety of companies. A panel of expert speakers will address how to present your images to Stock Footage houses, what Stock Footage houses are looking for, and the kinds of images that are most in-demand. The event will also look at minimum and best formats required for acquisition and delivery, as well as an examination of the best practices for managing your media and archiving your images in the increasingly complex world of new formats and storage media.
Featured Speakers will include: Tom Spota, Director of Video Acquisition at Shutterstock; Postproduction Guru Michael Cioni, CEO and Cofounder of LIGHT IRON, (which recently expanded to the East Coast with the acquisition of Off Hollywood Post); and DCS Advisory Board Member/Cinematographer/Still Photographer Mark Forman. A representative of Studio-B&H will also present, and DCS President James Mathers will moderate the event, which will conclude with a raffle of handy production accessories.
Studio B&H is located at 420 Ninth Avenue, between 33rd and 34th Streets, one block from Penn Station and close to several major parking facilities.
The event is free, but RSVP’s are necessary to confirm attendance and get updated information. Please RSVP with your contact details and “Stock Footage” in the subject line to: RSVP@DigitalCinemaSociety.org
This is an excellent opportunity for videographers, photographers, and other Still and Moving-Image Content Creators who may have terrific footage in their libraries they wish to sell to Stock Footage houses, or who are interested in shooting great imagery during their downtimes.
