NewMediaWebinars will offer a free webinar Thursday, June 3rd that introduces rotoscoping and 2D planar tracking.
Starting at 1pm EST, the webinar will rely on Imagineer’s Mocha, a well-regarded planar tracker app. (Planar trackers have a bit of intelligence that allows them to see points selected on an image as part of an image plane, which makes it quicker working from frame to frame.)
Anyone working in video effects will use tracking (or matchmoving) to mix CG elements with real world video. Video editors, meanwhile, will find use of the technology for color correction, sky replacements, obscuring objects such as car license plates, or stabilizing shaky footage.
While this is a freebie if you tune in on time, NewMediaWebinars also charges $25 for a downloadable HD version of the webinar archive, an audio podcast with the presenter answering questions not answered during the webinar and the project files used during the webinar for practice.
