While there are still questions about the economy’s revival, Greenwich Street-based Mega Playground charges ahead by acquiring a 14,000 sq. ft. floor at 96 Morton Street, one block from their home base.
The Morton Street facility, “already at 100% capacity” with projects from the IFC and Comedy Central, joins with extant editing and screening rooms at the storied Brill Building at Broadway & 49th Street.
The 16-year-old company, which has prospered offering film and TV production and postproduction, recently created an audio postproduction suite out of its existing Greenwich Street space, with an added expansion of audio services on the drawing boards, according to Playground principal Eitan Hakami.
Recent Mega Playground projects include the Barry Levinson/Al Pacino “You Don’t Know Jack” feature for HBO, the NBC TV drama Mercy and hundreds of hours of finishing work for shows airing on A&E, TLC, Spike, IFC, Comedy Central and Discovery Channels.
