NAB 2017 Attendance Up But Internationals Lag

Photo: The “8K Living Room” setup at NAB 2017

The annual National Association of Broadcasters show comes to a close tomorrow, with plenty of new apps, gear and presentations. This wasn’t a show full of don’t miss introductions, but plenty of work behind the scenes offering useful upgrades including cloud production, IP overtaking SDI in facilities and yes, ever smarter drones.

Attendees numbered 103,443, up less than 1,000 over NAB 2016, according to the trade group. International attendance dropped, although not as much as some forecast – down to 26,714 from 26,781 at last year’s confab.

Look for our report on the show in an upcoming post.
