Okay, okay. So Jeffrey Katzenberg called Warner Bros Clash of the Titans a “cheesy” job, since the flick didn’t look as spiff as it might (the 3D was pulled out late–the film was planned only as 2D when production began–and really, Katzenberg doesn’t much like Warners right now for doing this sort of thing and clogging up screens that Dreamworks has its eyes on).
But forget the fighting. You can get some idea of what Prime Focus, a top Hollywood post facility, did to pull this off in 10 weeks by reading this on Nvidia’s site.
Prime Focus developed its own conversion pipeline–View D, which uses CUDA-powered Nvidia gear–to create the whole HD-SDI 3D post stream, enabling their artists and visual effects supervisors to pull the whole thing off in 10 weeks.
