NYC Production & Post News, the premiere web resource for motion media creatives in the New York region, announces the launch of a new monthly event series in partnership with Manhattan-based Showbiz Store & Café, 19 West 21st Street, NYC. The initial program features a discussion about the latest in developments of 4K production and a demo of Cinedeck’s unique file-based location recorder. Future events will run the fourth Tuesday of every month from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. This inaugural evening will be held on Tuesday, June 26th 2012. The program for Tuesday June 26th will include producer, director, writer and cinematographer David Leitner talk on “4K… a legacy format”. David’s presentations have become favorites of NAB attendees, SMPTE members and many others. Don’t miss this evening’s event if you’re curious about where today’s HD video technology is headed.
In addition, David will present his unique perspective on the roots of today’s move to 4K for production, noting how large single sensor cameras take the industry back to the beginnings of filmmaking and photography.
About our speaker
David Leitner has over sixty Director, DP, and Producer credits in documentaries and dramas including eight Sundance Film Festival premieres. His work has been broadcast and released theatrically in the U.S. and Europe. He is also an author, columnist, speaker, and contributor to the textbook classic, The Filmmaker’s Handbook.
For our second presentation, Cinedeck’s Daine Pearson will talk about the Cinedeck RX Cine/444, highlighting its on-set 3D tools. Daine will also discuss using the innovative design of the Cinedeck as a key device for today’s move to file-based workflow scenarios. Cinedeck remains one of the few companies in New York that both designs and manufactures its own high-end video production gear.
