While the film era created enough work to keep many labs and movie distribution facilities open, the waning of film has changed all that.
Pointing up that great change, former competitors Deluxe and Technicolor have entered into a binding agreement to create Deluxe Technicolor Digital Cinema, which will specialize in theatrical digital cinema mastering, distribution and key management services.
This joint digital cinema venture pairs the long developing technologies and work processes of these two respected multinational companies. This match-up also joins best-in-class technologies, personnel and facilities to provide services to its customers on a global scale.
Deluxe Digital Cinema will manage the operation out of its Burbank offices. All other lines of business will continue to operate independently of one another.
David Kassler, CEO of Deluxe Entertainment Services, noted that the partnership will be optimally positioned to offer our companies’ existing and future customers industry-leading digital cinema services with greater efficiencies.” Tim Sarnoff, President of Production Services at Technicolor added “At Technicolor we have committed ourselves to services that are driven by creative talent and technology, creating the next generation immersive media experiences our customers have come to expect from us.”
