Okay, maybe it’s Mr. Mark Schubin to you, but to us he’s Mr. Opera Tech. Mark not only ranks among the best of the best television engineers at work today, but he brings a wealth of television history and lore to every entertaining presentation he does.
As part of his astonishing free presentation this coming Tuesday evening, March 27th, Mark (who chairs the lively LinkedIn group Media-Technology and Opera History) will present proof positive that way before today’s movie theater presentations of opera performances, technologists were hard at work devising 3D projection, long-distant delivery of real-time audio and more for operas.
Mark will also discuss the incredible, Super Bowl-like logistics of doing “The Metropolitan Opera: Live in HD,” a very popular way of enjoying opera that he has helped pull off from its very beginnings!
The fun starts at 7pm at the premises of our partners Showbiz Store & Café, 19 West 21st Street. Please let us know you are coming by filling out this simple Eventbrite form.
