After over two years of serving New York area motion media creatives by offering breaking news, product reviews and profiles, NYC Production & Post News launches a new version of the site designed for viewing on iPads, smartphones as well as traditional desktops.
Among the changes debuted at the website’s relaunch today are the latest in HTML 5 and CSS 3 web technologies, which enable automatic scaling of the site for improved readability on iPads and smartphones. Other new and improved features include more extensive use of video, improved search and more accessible archives.
Joe Herman, senior editor on the site, will expand the scope of his popular product reviews by including more extensive use of video and graphics. Special guest authors including S.D. Katz (“Film Directing Shot by Shot”) will join columnists such as Mark Forman to regularly add their viewpoints on the current production scene.
The remodeled site will also include more pages devoted to breaking news from production facilities, film schools and other sources relevant to those working in the City. Upcoming co-ventures with Media Services’ Showbiz Store & Café are also on tap.
While the Internet delivers a huge amount of information on a daily basis, it can be overwhelming, says Dan Ochiva. “Our readers rely on Joe, me and the other writers to cut through the chatter and find the information that really matters. With my decades of tracking and writing about the industry, I can tell the difference between hype and solid news, something no other website devoted to the New York region accomplishes.”
