In an announcement by Y&R New York president Jim Radosevic, Leslie Sims has been named chief creative officer of Y&R New York. She succeeds Jim Elliott, who is leaving the agency. Sims had been an exec creative director at McCann Erickson, where she has produced award-winning work for global brands including Nature Valley, Avis and Mastercard.
She also created the Staples Easy Button, one of advertising’s most famous brand icons, according to her bio for the Clio Awards 2014. Sims will report to Global Chief Creative Officer Tony Granger.
Radosevic, who assumed his role last May, has been making other leadership changes such as appointing Dick de Lange chief strategy officer this past September. Want more info about the change-over? AdAge is the place to go.
